6 week Drawing Course
All artwork starts with a mark on the page. On this course, we will look at how those marks lead to a final piece and how we can use drawing to create a scaffold to structure and complete a piece of work.
You will learn how to elevate your drawing skills through a range of different subjects, styles and drawing mediums. We will draw inspiration from different artists throughout history and artistic styles which range from realism to more illustrative techniques.
• Natural forms,
• Reflective surfaces,
• Animal portraits,
• Interior space,
Across the six weeks, you will learn how to use a variety of media, including:
• Sketching pencils,
• Pen & wash,
• Coloured pencils,
• Oil pastels,
• Soft pastels.
How is the Course Structured?
You will learn the history and context of the chosen artist for that week, receive a technical task on how to use the medium, followed by a demonstration on how to complete the week’s task.
The weekly task will contain differentiated task options – Beginners, Intermediate or an Extension Task. This will allow you to choose which variant suits your own personal experience with that medium. Armed with guided step-by-step visual resources and our teacher on standby, you will have all you need to complete the Weekly Task.
There is free parking at In Bristol Studios and free on-road parking around The Flamingo Centre.
If you have purchased the Artist Kit, then it will be supplied to you on the first day of the course.
If you have purchased the Tuition Fee only and wish to use your own materials, then we have provided a Shopping List of all materials needed throughout the course.

COVID 19 Contingency Plan
In the event of a further lockdown, or ‘rule of 6’ restrictions remaining in place, there are three options for you to choose from:
1. The class will move online for the same dates and times.
You will also receive the option to join the online course’s mid-week seminar on Wednesdays 7pm – 8pm for further support to help you complete tasks from the safety of your own home. This seminar is usually exclusive for any students completing the online course, but in the event of switching to online, this will become accessible to all students.
You will also be invited to submit work for written feedback from our teacher.
2. You can choose to roll over payment of any classes cancelled or moved online to a future in-person course of your choice.
3. You may request a full refund for the Tuition Fee of any classes cancelled or moved online.
If you have purchased an Artist Kit which remains unused, you may return the materials for a full refund. If the Artist Kit has been used then you will be unable to request a refund for the materials, but you may keep all Step-By-Step Guides to complete tasks with the materials in your own time.
In the event of switching to online teaching, you will be emailed with further information on these changes.
